Waiting for team problems to fix themselves is a solid strategy—said no great leader ever. So we created a platform to help.
Brett and I recognize we’ve been throwing around a word that doesn’t have much meaning to folks right now. Our name choice is a product of a marketing tactic we’ve been advised to use. So, here’s a blog post to walk you through our newest creation, something we call Teamangle. It all began—no hang on—we don’t have time for that, at least not without a bar tab started.
In short, Teamangle is our way of spotting potential problems within a team that are likely holding them back. After many years of hands-on experience leading teams and companies, we’ve seen how poor communication, collaboration, and culture can drain team energy, stifle innovation, delay performance, and impact retention and morale. I might be missing a few outcomes, but that’s enough for now.
Most leaders aren’t equipped to recognize the signs of problems in these three foundational areas until they become much bigger issues that derail trust, focus, and attention—impacting every aspect of the team.
Teamangle is a platform of engaging products, data-driven diagnostics, and tailored services for creating high-performing and happy teams. To help leaders and teams spot these cracks in their foundation, we created Teamangle to diagnose the health of a team’s core functions—communication, collaboration, and culture. We know that when these elements are running smoothly, it has a tremendous positive impact on the team’s work, delivery, innovation, and morale.
The Diagnostic
At the heart of our platform is the Teamangle Diagnostic that provides measurable data, which we use to prioritize insights. It starts with a questionnaire for every team member (or company-wide, if needed). Unlike typical pulse surveys, Teamangle focuses specifically on the core foundations of a functional team: communication, collaboration, and culture. There are no open-ended questions—just selections designed to dig deeper into how well the team is working together. We collect individual responses, which are analyzed across various roles, responsibilities, and interactions.
The result is a comprehensive report: 20+ pages that offer insights into team structure, culture, and overall health scores. We break down top- and low-scoring areas and offer detailed analysis of potential impacts if issues aren’t addressed. Each report wraps up with a high-level summary of the next steps and three prioritized themes to address.
The diagnostic provides leaders with a clear, data-driven view, confirming what they might already know while revealing new insights. It’s a powerful tool that adds clarity and reduces the guesswork in leadership (and we all know we’ve been guilty of that at some point).
The Cards
Teamangle Conversation Cards provide a structured way for leaders to facilitate meaningful conversations in both one-on-one and team settings. This framework goes beyond a typical set of questions. We’ve all experienced conversations that don’t go well—leaders aren’t trained to facilitate them, and participants often hold back, especially in environments where trust isn’t prioritized. These cards encourage safe, honest dialogue, breaking through the barriers that hold teams back.
And they work! One of our early testers shared: “We’ve been using the cards in our monthly sessions, and the team loves them. It feels like a game, and I’ve learned a lot from the questions.” Imagine adding that kind of energy to your meetings while gaining valuable insights. That’s the power of the Teamangle framework.
The Workshops
Teamangle workshops take conversation and insights further by offering tailored, collaborative sessions that enhance communication, collaboration, and culture. Using the diagnostic data, we craft workshops that address specific team needs, teaching practical, everyday methods that teams can apply immediately. We guide participants through tackling ambiguity, building empathy, and co-creating actionable solutions. After the workshop, you’ll receive a customized Teamangle Playbook to continue improving.
Our workshops move from reflection to validation, then to ideation, synthesis, and decision-making. This powerful framework prevents confusion, builds trust, and ensures alignment before moving forward. We leave teams with a clear, actionable plan.
No matter the workshop, the experience enhances your team's ability to co-create effective methods and tactics. Our curriculum includes focused exercises on the three core elements, with an additional focus on leadership planning and roadmapping for teams that join the All-Stars program.
T L ; D R : Teamangle is a platform of professional development tools designed to empower teams to communicate, collaborate, and perform better, making their best year ever.
After spending a year refining this curriculum, we’ve seen it drive positive change in individual and team development. We’re excited by the results and eager to get Teamangle out into the world. Stay tuned for more content, including whitepapers, playbooks, blog posts, and podcast discussions.
