The Huddle
What’s top of mind for us this week? Writing. Lots of writing. Between client projects and Teamangle content, we’re in full-on keyboard warrior mode. Also, marketing! We’ve been working with a new marketing expert, and let’s just say the ideas are flowing—almost too fast to keep up. It’s exciting, a little overwhelming, but definitely energizing.
The Review: This Week’s Topic
There is no ‘AI’ in team: Why leaders shouldn’t panic about job takeover
You’ve seen the headlines: “AI is coming for your job.” But is it, though? We dive into Microsoft CEO Satya Nadella’s recent comments on AI’s actual impact—and why it’s still far from replacing human teams. AI may be great at crunching data, but it still struggles with judgment, creativity, emotional intelligence, and, you know, basic context.
We break down three key questions:
- Do you see AI as an asset or a threat for teams? Spoiler: It depends on how you use it. If AI is replacing the worst parts of your job, that’s an asset. If it’s replacing the best parts, that’s a threat.
- Where do you see AI helping vs. hurting team collaboration? AI can summarize a meeting, but it can’t replace the conversation. It can draft an email, but it can’t build trust. Over-reliance on AI can make teams passive instead of proactive.
- How should leaders talk about AI with their teams? Ignoring AI isn’t an option, but panic isn’t the answer either. Smart leaders create space for open discussions about AI’s role—where it helps, where it doesn’t, and where teams need to set clear boundaries.
Also, fun fact: We have a There Is No AI in Team T-shirt. Because why not?
We also published two Teamangle articles (...from our forthcoming book):
